A Beloit church recognizes the history of the property it sits on.
New Zion Baptist Church purchased the former Waterman School in 1984 – a few years after it closed.
Committee Member Tamara Wofford says the church is using it’s 100th anniversary as a backdrop for a reunion of former Waterman Elementary School students this Saturday.
Wofford says all former students are encouraged to attend the event which runs from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church at 1905 Mound Avenue.
