The City and School District of Beloit aren’t taking a traffic study that found the area near Beloit Memorial High School unsafe lightly.
Beloit Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Millard says the plan is to close 4th Street from North Street to Middle for the entire 2018-2019 school year.
Millard says there have been 50 car accidents in the area in the last year-and-a-half, although she’s not aware of any pedestrians being hurt.
The public can learn more about the proposal during an informational meeting Wednesday evening at 5:30 in the Beloit Memorial High School cafeteria.
