A 23-year-old Milton man is dead following a three-vehicle crash that shut down the southbound lanes of I-39/90 for more than four hours.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says that just after 5:00 Tuesday morning a southbound semi driven by a 38-year-old Sun Prairie man was struck from behind by a Ford pickup being driven by a 34-year-old Madison man.
The Ford continued until it became disabled in the left lane and was struck from behind by a Chevrolet pickup driven by a 23-year-old Milton man.
The second crash caused a complete blockage of both southbound lanes.
The driver of the Chevy truck died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Ford received minor injuries. The semi driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
