The Beloit City Council is doing the people’s business in its own chambers again. Council President Regina Duncan Monday night helped dedicate a more intimate gathering space before a small crowd of well wishers. Duncan says her sincerest hope is the newly renovated space will be one of openness and inclusion as the council makes solid and well considered decision on behalf of the city. Renovations since July included removing the stadium-style forum seating to create a level meeting area. The glass enclosure was replaced with solid walls, and a new large first floor conference room was added. Security upgrades to protect the public and council during meetings was also put in place.
