Beloit fire officials are investigating the cause of an early morning residential fire on the near southwest side. Firefighters were called to the 500 block of Vernon Avenue just after 1:00 a.m. Monday. Officials report significant damage to the single family structure. Authorities say all occupants escaped safely and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
