The Janesville Fire Department is investigating the cause of a structure fire east of the city. Fire Captain Jason Daskam says firefighters were called out about 6:30 a.m. Saturday to 7232 East Highway 14 in the Town of La Prairie. Daskam says firefighters found a semi inside a metal building fully engulfed in flames. He says the fire destroyed the semi, another vehicle, and began melting the roof of the building. Damage is estimated at around $600 thousand. Highway 14 was shut down between North Tarrant and North Milton Shopiere Roads for about three and a half hours while firefighters worked the scene. No one was reported injured.
