Additional charges could be forthcoming against two men who police say extorted $12,000 from a Beloit man by impersonating police.
23-year-old Drevon Cobbins and 32-year-old Jeremiah Tarver made their initial appearances in Rock County Court (Tuesday) on more than a half dozen charges including impersonating police, false imprisonment, burglary, and theft.
Assistant District Attorney Gerald Urbik said Tarver could face more charges as he convinced the victim to cash a forged check, and take out a $5000 personal loan.
Court Commissioner Jack Hoag set cash bond at $5000 for Cobbins and $20,000 for Tarver.
