MacFarlane Pheasants owner Bill MacFarlane says his farm suffered significant damage.
MacFarlane says 5,000 – 10,000 pheasants escaped, although he doesn’t think they will go far as they like to stay near their food and water.
MacFarlane says he expects to get back about half the pheasants that were lost back.
MacFarlane plans to keep any birds that are returned in a quarantine pen for at least a month until they are deemed safe to rejoin his flock.
