Volunteers and invasive species prevention partners will be at boat launches all over the state this weekend, working to educate boaters.

Rock River Coalition A-I-S and Stream Monitoring Coordinator Lizzy Reitzloff says simple clean-up steps and draining water from the boat and live wells can help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.

Reitzloff will be at the boat launch on North Charley Bluff Road on Lake Koshkonong from 2:30 until 4:30 Saturday afternoon as part of the Great Lakes Landing Blitz.

Reitzloff says Lake Koshkonong has known populations of curly-leaf pondweed and zebra mussels.
