WCLO's Beth Wheelock reports on the new tower in the Town of Avon.

— A new receiver site in the Town of Avon will help Rock County's first responders communicate with 911 dispatch while they're in the southwest portion of the county.

911 Communications Director Dave Sleeter says the new tower will enhance communications on laptops in emergency situations. The tower will also improve radio communications from squad cars and from the portable radios each officer carries.

The project is being completed now and should be fully operational by next week.
