Rock County Public Works Director Ben Coopman is pleased most of the road work is done for the season.

Roads opening in the last week include County Highway "S" from I-90 to Cranston Road, Highway "M" at the intersection of "H" and "M" in Fulton, and Weary Road in the towns of Center, Porter, Union, and Magnolia. Coopman says the ramp at I-90 North to I-43 will be completely open by noon Wednesday. Also, the extended holiday weekend could bring some of the season's first slick driving conditions. Coopman says a chance for snow in the forecast has him ready to call out the salting and sanding crews.

He's also hopeful using a salt brine on the bridges Wednesday, will be enough to keep from calling the road crews out over the holiday.
