Rock County's local governments eligible for federal assistance
President Bush has declared local governments in 13 more Wisconsin counties eligible for reimbursement in the aftermath of last month's floods.
The declaration means governments in those counties can ask the federal government to reimburse them for 75 percent of their costs to repair public facilities and infrastructure. They also can ask for up to 90 percent of their emergency response expenses.
The counties are Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, Marquette, Ozaukee, Racine, Rock, Sheboygan, Washington and Waukesha.
Twenty-seven Wisconsin counties have now been declared eligible for federal public assistance. The president has declared individuals and businesses in 29 counties eligible for federal assistance as well.
