Janesville seeks damages in wrongful death suit
JANESVILLE A Janesville man is seeking damages from the U.S. Postal Service claiming a Janesville letter carrier failed to yield to a pedestrian while driving a mail truck.
Lyndahl Slayton claims his wife, 77 year old Genevieve, walked to a letter carrier's truck to hand him a letter and the carrier pulled into traffic striking her. Genevieve fell, striking her head, and died.
While Slayton isn't asking for a specific amount of money in his suit, he filed a one-million dollar claim against the U-S Postal Service last fall.
