WCLO's Steve Benton reports on a new grocer that will sell locally produced and organic foods

— A new "specialty" grocery store is coming to Beloit.

Co-owners Rich Horbaczewski and Jackie Gennett farm in the Monroe area and have been selling locally grown products at the Beloit Farmer's Market for about three years.

Gennett says they've been so successful they've decided to include organic and sustainably produced foods in their store. The store, called "Bushel & Peck's", will also sell spices, cooking products, as well as specialty beer and wines. A deli and cafe will offer foods made from local products.

The doors will be open for a "sneak peek" May 16th and 17th during the "Beloit Artwalk," but they won't officially open until early June. A grand opening will be held in late June. The store will be located at 328 State Street, in the old Woolworth's building.
