WCLO's Beth Wheelock reports on changes you will see on Janesville's Milton Avenue.

After four months of negotiating, Janesville will have a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant near Milton Avenue.

Gale Price, the city's Manager of Building and Development Services, says the sports-themed wing and burger restaurant will be located in a new building on the former Walmart site and is scheduled to open in spring 2009.

Another change: the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Milton Avenue will be bulldozed and redesigned. Price says the owners will tear down the store and build a new KFC restaurant on the existing site. He says the current store is relatively small and the bathrooms don't meet accessibility standards.

Price has also received phone calls from people interested in purchasing the former Taco Bell restaurant on Milton Avenue. He says it's encouraging, because while the building is structurally sound, it has not been well-maintained.

Yes. We need some more top-line restaurants. They would do great here. I'm thinking Machine Shed, Outback Steakhouse, etc., mmm, etc. And ones like the Open Flame in Hales Corners (http://www.openflamerestaurant.com/). My mouth is watering already.

Give me a break, this town is growing and could grow for the better if we stop putting up Dollar Stores and chain resturants.
