Janesville school will hire part time custodians
After working through several configurations, the Janesville School Board decides new part time custodians are the best fit for the school district.
Commissioner Diedre Richard made the motion to allow as many part timers as necessary within the time and cost parameters.
Manager of Transportation and Purchasing Steve Eichman discussed the plans with the school board Tuesday. The board ultimately agreed to increase the custodial workforce by as many part-time custodians that would fit in the 48-hour period.
The board would not pay benefits, which saves about $30,000.

The problem with hiring part time teachers and administrators is that THEY would get prorated health insurance. The solution to this problem is to vote out those board members who voted in favor of hiring all part time and wanted to privatize. They have a short memory. When food service was privatized the district bled money. The district only started to make money on the lunch program when they got rid of Merriots.

Wow, why would you want to keep the quality custodial staff you have? Why stop there, lets get all part time teachers too. OH and dont forget my personal favorite. I totally vote for part time administrators, that way you can REALLY cut out the pork!
