Traffic on I-90 at the Newville exit was blocked for several hours Tuesday night following a two vehicle accident that resulted in two deaths.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reports a minivan carrying six people went out of control, crossed the median and struck a passenger car in the oncoming lanes of traffic around 8:00.

Killed in the crash was a 54-year-old female and six-year-old male from Rochester, Minnesota who were passengers in the van. The driver of the van, 24-year-old Kelly Waites, also of Rochester, and the other passengers sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, 25-year-old Jeffrey Albertini of Madison also sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The injured were treated at Edgerton Hospital and Mercy Hospital in Janesville.

The black truck hit her as it was turning onto Milton Ave from Holiday Dr. The woman was walking across Holiday Dr. in the crosswalk.

She had a hip and head injury, but was concious after it happened. She was in a lot of pain though. She was taken away in the ambulance and I don't know what happened to her after that.
