Four finalists named for UW-W provost job

— Four finalists have been named in the search for a new provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at UW-Whitewater.

The finalists will be on campus for interviews starting Wednesday, Nov. 4. Members of the campus community are encouraged to attend the open interviews.

The finalists are:

-- Martin Tadlock, assistant vice chancellor of lifelong learning and community engagement at UW-Oshkosh. He also is a professor in the curriculum and instruction department there.

Tadlock's interview is scheduled for from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Summers Auditorium in the James R. Connor University Center.

-- Alan Hartman, professor of management and the John McNaughton university professor at UW-Oshkosh. He previously served as dean of the college of business and the interim provost and vice chancellor there.

Hartman's interview is scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in Room 2203 of Timothy J. Hyland Hall.

-- Robert Augustine, dean of the graduate school, research, international students and scholars and study abroad at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill. He also has served as the interim associate vice president for academic affairs for technology there.

Augustine's interview is scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in Summers Auditorium in the University Center.

-- Beverly Kopper, associate provost for academic affairs at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She also is a professor in the Psychology Department there.

Kopper's interview is scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in Summers Auditorium in the University Center.

The Provost Search Committee reviewed 56 applications, screened references on 13 preliminary finalists and interviewed seven semifinalists by telephone before selecting the four finalists, according to a news release.

The provost is responsible for the quality of academic programs, hiring and promoting faculty and staff and supporting better teaching and student learning, the release said.
