The National Weather Service has updated its forecast for the snowstorm expected to hit Wisconsin on Monday and Tuesday.

Rock and Walworth Counties will be under a Winter Storm Warning, effective at 9 p.m. Monday through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Snowfall predictions range from 7 inches to 11 inches for Rock County for the two-day period. The heaviest snow will fall late Monday night and during the day Tuesday.

Snowfall in Walworth County is predicted to be between 8 inches and 14 inches.

Blowing and drifting snow is expected to develop Tuesday morning and worsen through the day and Tuesday night as wind speeds increase and winds become more northerly.

Snow is expected to end by Wednesday morning, but winds will not subside until late Wednesday afternoon.

The incoming snowstorm will mean no trash collection Tuesday in the city of Janesville.

"Due to the expected extended duration of the forecasted storm, all collection personnel will be needed for winter weather operations," according to a news release.

Trash and recyclables that were scheduled for pickup Tuesday will be collected the following week, on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Affected residents should follow their regular recycling collection schedule thereafter.
