To some a little rodeo is just that little but to a group of people who believe in animals and their rights it is just a step. The civil rights movement and women's liberation movement began just the same: step by step. Check out PETA.org to see things that have been ignored especially McDonald's inhumane and overly grotesque handling of chicken which they are slaughtering for Happy Meal McNuggets. My children will never eat from there again.
The moon cries in loneliness as today’s child chooses to stay inside glued to an electronic box, compartmentalized inside a temperature controlled facade, instead of going out in to the world, exploring caves, swimming with turtles, discovering nature’s beauty and perfection, caring a broken wing, feeding fish, finding real friends, friends who help the child as much or more than the other.
how many of you would support having your dog screamed at by a group of strangers, lunged at, grabbed and then "roped" up? do you think these animals aren't terrified just because you don't own them?
I get a kick out of people spending more time concerned about animals well being than other human beings. I think your time would be better spent protesting child abuse or job loss turning into poverty or something else. Get over it already. I personally have better things to worry about. You should too.
The protesters are right. EVERY major animal welfare organization condemns rodeo for its inherent cruelty. Only 2 weeks ago, 6 horses were killed at the Calgary Stampede in Canada. 50 horses have died there since 1986. I was present at the Salinas, CA rodeo in 1995 when 5 animals were killed. 3 roping calves suffered broken legs there in 2009 and had to be destroyed; a bull died and 2 animals were injured at this year's event. Tip of the iceberg.
Most of rodeo is bogus from the get-go. Real cowboys never routinely rode bulls, or wrestled steers, or rode bareback, or tried to rope/throw/tie a terrified calf (a baby!) in 8 seconds flat. (Imagine the public outcry if pet dogs were mistreated thusly.) It's all hype to put fannies in the seats (read: $$$).
Rodeo is a macho, sexist, 19th-century anachronism which belongs in the dustbin of history. For most of the animals, it's merely a detour en route to the slaughterhouse. And the good people of Wisconsin should know better.

Wow...hot dogs are from ground up pork....that was the best he could come up with?
Well lets see....Sheep produce meat, lanolin, leather, sheepskin, and wool; cattle produce milk, meat (hamburger, steak, roast)and leather; chickens produce feathers, eggs, and meat; pigs produce meat (sausage, pork chops, bacon, ham, roast) and pigskin; turkey's produce meat and feathers; Goats produce milk and meat; needless to say; natural products such as these clothe and feed us. That is 2 of the 3 requirements for survival (food, clothing, and shelter_)
Now, let me see the protesters dressed in corn husks in subzero temperatures.
First of all anyone who protests Rodeos should maybe look into the whole picture. How many of you protesters have given actual mouth to mouth to a calf to keep it alive. How many of you have stayed in a pasture during a thunderstorm to make sure if a mare goes into labor all is ok. How many of you have reached arm deep in a cow to help a calf come out the right way so momma and the calf are ok. How many of you have spent 14 hours in 20 below zero wind chill getting pipes thawed out so your livestock has fresh water. I have! I have spent many stormy nights be it rain or snow dedicating my service to my animals that I love more then my own safety. When you wanna see the whole picture come help help me when Im having to play in water when its below zero. Or when your scared to get your pretty little shirt dirty come pull a calf in ya church clothes cause that calves life cant wait on you to change. Come help pen up a cow who wants to eat your lunch cause your touching her sick calf trying to make sure it lives. As far as the guy yelling to kids about eating hot dogs. Do any of you protesters believe in GOD? Do you read the bible? It says in the book of acts "I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was. 6I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air. 7Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’
8“I replied, ‘Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’
9“The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean." Get a grip on reality people.
