I go through this area a few times a day. If the people using the cross walk actually pushed the button to activate the light it would help. Even in the photo it isn't lit with all the traffic he is crossing in front of.

Nothing should change in this situation. The "rules" are already there.

I don't think we need to spend the money on a tunnel when a stop light would work just fine. If people in cars can get by with the light, then so can bikes. People just have to be more careful and obey the laws. Bikers and pedestrians have rights too.
