I'm surprised Traxler is on the list myself. It already has a number of activity areas and not much free space, and is frequently used for special events. The whole point of placing facilities like this is to manage the usage of parks so that none of them is too crowded or too empty. I'm not sure that the lagoon area is the best, myself; I'd rather it be by the bend in the river, where the city has newly acquired land with no defined activity areas and virtually no traffic.
Monterey gets too crowded with football games, softball games, track meets, and graduations. I can see there may be conflicts with parking and kids riding skateboards through heavy traffic to get to the park during these events. Put it someplace other than Monterey.
Why would the best locations be in the worst parts of town. The city is run by the most ridiculous politicians around. Not only do they bankrupt their own companies, but now they want to have our kids skate in areas where confederate flags, and heroin addicts are common sights. Keep it classy Janesville...
I totally agree. Traxler park is the only location I would let my child go to. The other areas are riddled with crime. It's not just about the space, we have to think of the safety of our children first and foremost.
I would think putting the park at a more central location like Traxler Park would be the best location. And it's in a better neighborhood than the other locations.
