Crean Hiring a Surprise

By Al Fagerli ( Contact )   April 2, 2008

I think most college basketball fans were very surprised when the news broke of Marquette coach Tom Crean leaving for Indiana.

For Crean,it will turn out to be a good move, although it will probably take some time. There are a lot of problems at Indiana as have been documented.

I do think Crean will have a new boss real soon,as the current Athletic Director has got to go for the fiasco of hiring Kelvin Sampson that will probably lead to NCAA santions.

Crean wouldn't have taken the job if he wasn't confident he could return the Hoosiers to respectability. He did a fine job at Marquette. Let's be honest, nine years is a good run for a school that size.

I know he will do a fine Job there. IU needs to replace the AD asap. Im sure he wouldn't have taken a care under the circumstances unless he was made aware major changes needed to be made.
