Hummingbird Envy
My hummingbird feeder was visited TWICE on Saturday! I don't know if it was two different birds or one bird that came by twice. Either way, it was very exciting!
But…
My neighbor lady’s hummingbird feeder had no less than seven visits during the same time period. (But who’s counting?)
It could be the birds preferred her yellow and red feeder over my solid red one. Perhaps they felt more comfortable with her feeder hanging from a tree than with my feeder hung next to the window. Maybe they liked her homemade sugar water recipe better than my store bought nectar.
More likely though, they visited her more often because she didn’t jump up and squeal like a… well, like a girl every time one of them flew up.
Honestly. I startled one hummingbird so badly it sprayed nectar out its nose.
(Okay, maybe I made that part up.)
