Water

By Stan Milam ( Contact )   March 14, 2008

One word, but it means so much.

We take it for granted several times a day.

Every time we flush the toilet. Every time we take an aspirin. Every time we cook a meal.

It's water, and it's worthy of our immediate attention.

The largest body of fresh water on the planet is contained in the Great Lakes, and significant diversions must be prohibited and stopped. That's why the eight Great Lakes states, two Canadian provinces and the United Sattes and Canadian federal governments must agree and implement the Great Lakes Compact.

Incredibly, two Republicans in the Wisconsin Assembly are holding up the entire agreement - Rep. Scott Gunderson, the chairman of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee, and Assembly Speaker Mike Heubsch. Call them and tell them to allow members of the Assembly to vote on the measure.

Here are their toll-free numbers in Madison

Gunderson - 1-888-534-0083 Huebsch - 1-888-534-0094

There is a group in Waukesha County that is working very hard towards the same goal - WEAL,Inc. Waukesha County Environmental Action League. I can't understand why people do not protect the earth/natural resources FIRST. If we deplete and ruin everything here, where is it, that we think we are moving TO?

April 1, 2008, Butler and Gableman will face off. ONE question answered by each candidate will go a LONG way and determining how qualified they themselves are to sit on the bench. That question is simply:YES or NO Should Annette Ziegler be removed from the bench/ and sent to jail. I'll wait for their answer/ then I'll know what lever to pull
