Your Brett Blog
I don't even know who I'm more upset with anymore. Each development of the Packers/Favre saga just seems to leave me more and more weary of the whole thing. Certainly you've noticed that "America's Team" is fast becoming "America's Punch Line" for joke after joke.
Today's press conference was more of the same. You can listen to it from our home page and see for yourself. We stopped the upload after the first 16 minutes of "nothing".
So this is really your blog -- tell the world your thoughts, hopes and dreams for the future of the Packers.
I'm too tired of it all.

It has to do with the teasing Brett has done over the past few years. The whole "I might not want to come back next year. Oh, it's June! OK, I'll come back"
The Packers had too much of it and finally called his bluff. They needed to prepare the team, and Brett wasn't ready. Aaron was.

I agree it went on waaaay too long. But I'm very surprised how quickly fans turned on Brett. I still have many questions that will likely never be answered. Why was Brett o.k. for Green Bay last year, but now he's not? What really is the "riff" between Ted Thompson and Brett Favre? Why didn't the Packers allow him to "compete" for the job from day 1 when he wanted to come back? If the Packers weren't trying to force Brett into retirement, why did they try to pay him off to stay away (retired)? And finally, if Brett is not the best person for Green Bay, why not allow him to play against you? What message does that send your team? 'You guys are the best for the job, but we don't want you to play against Favre.' ????
I'll root for Aaron Rogers and wish him well. I still love my Packers, but its hard to let go of my 3-time MVP.

It's like a bad high school break-up:
Take me back.
No.
Please?
No.
I made a mistake. Please, take me back.
No. I've moved on.
Okay, then. I'm going to date that girl up the street named Minnesota Vikings.
What? That hussy? Never!
So, you'll take me back?
No.
Okay, then. Can I date Tampa Bay?
Yeah. She's nice.

Tim, you're right. This whole story is just a big "ho-hum". Listeners need to realize this is just another business deal and we can have zero effect on its outcome. Stan M's discussions on Janesville high school bowling teams are ten times more "listenable"!
