Return to the Rock County

Rock County "rocks" in July!

By Tim Bremel ( Contact )   June 29, 2008

Its Christmas for music fans! And whether you're into rock, country or something a bit more mellow, there's something for you right here at home this July!

First up - July 4th weekend festivities. You can enjoy a free Beloit/Janesville Symphony concert in Janesville's Courthouse Park on July 3rd, or Beloit's Riverside Park on the 4th. Back in Janesville, a variety of local bands will entertain during the Jaycee's July 4th celebration at the Youth Sports Complex.

On deck, its Beloit Riverfest with a fantastic line-up: Seether on July 10th - a newer rock group. REO Speedwagon on July 11th. Molly Hatchet with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on July 12th. The Beach Boys on July 13th! Plus lots more side stage entertainment along the river in Beloit.

But we're not done yet.

The Rock County 4-H Fair offers free concerts with a paid gate admission including: Ronnie Milsap on July 24th. Randy Travis on July 25th. Corbin Bleu on July 26th. (If your kids are into "High School Musical", this is their show!!) Lady Antebellum (a hot, new country group) on Sunday, July 27th.

Oh, wait -- let us not forget about the musical, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at JPAC, July 16-20.

There are a variety of live summer entertainment offerings in downtown Janesville and in Beloit as well.

So, I'll not be accepting the "there's nothing to do around here" complaint this month.

After a rough June, its definitely time for us to enjoy a music-filled July!
